The Electric Three-Wheel Spoke Hub Motor is designed for electric recreational trikes, mobility trikes for the elderly, cargo tricycles, and the electrification of pedal-powered tricycles. It is compatible with spoked rims and offers flexible installation, powerful performance, effortless hill-climbing, and exceptional durability with minimal maintenance.

The motor itself does not include a finished wheel rim and can be assembled with conventional 16–26 inch spoke steel rims, providing excellent versatility. Existing wheel rims from older tricycles can be reused directly, reducing modification costs and making future tire maintenance and replacement simple and convenient.
No gears or chains are used for transmission, reducing problems such as gear wear and chain breakage. The motor operates with low noise and requires virtually no maintenance, eliminating the need for regular gear oil changes and chain adjustments while significantly reducing the failure rate.
Wide permanent-magnet neodymium-iron-boron magnets provide sufficient starting torque. Even under full load with passengers or cargo, the motor can start easily on rural slopes and steep dirt roads. Power output is smooth and strong, with reduced risk of overheating and demagnetization.
The motor housing is made of high-strength die-cast aluminum alloy with a sealed construction. With an IP54 protection rating, it can be used normally in everyday rainy conditions and on muddy or wet roads. The internal stator windings are less susceptible to water intrusion and rust, helping extend motor service life.
The winding design is optimized for low-speed heavy-load operating conditions, achieving an efficiency of over 85%. Compared with geared motors, it has lower electrical energy losses. Under the same battery conditions, it provides longer range, lower power consumption, and greater durability.
Available in 48V / 60V versions. Power options range from 500W–800W–1000W–1200W–1500W. Drum-brake or disc-brake mounting positions are available, while the wire outlet direction and Hall-wire length can also be customized according to requirements.

1. Secure the motor axle to the rear fork of the tricycle and tighten the axle nuts on both sides.
2. Install the spokes and wheel rim, adjust the spoke tension, and correct any wheel-rim runout.
3. Connect the motor phase wires and Hall wires to the corresponding brushless controller.
4. Install the brake assembly and adjust the brake tension.
5. Power on and test the system, checking whether the wheel rotates smoothly without stalling or abnormal noise.
Friendly Reminder: Always disconnect the battery power before wiring. Incorrect wiring may easily damage the motor Hall sensors.
A: The spokesperson does not include a finished wheel and requires assembly with spokes and a steel rim. Its advantages include high versatility, lower tire replacement costs, easier maintenance, and better compatibility for converting older tricycles.
An integrated wheel motor combines the motor and wheel rim into one unit, so the wheel rim cannot be replaced separately.
A: The Electric Three-Wheel Spoke Hub Motor can be installed as long as the wheel-rim size matches and the spoke-hole configuration is compatible. Before placing an order, please confirm your original wheel-rim size, fork width, and brake type (drum brake / disc brake) to avoid installation incompatibility.
A: Over-voltage use is not recommended. Using a 60V battery with a 48V motor will increase speed, but the motor may overheat and become demagnetized, shortening its service life. Using a 48V battery with a 60V motor will result in weaker power and lower speed. The motor voltage, controller, and battery must be properly matched.
A: The brushless direct-drive spoken hub motor is basically maintenance-free. Daily maintenance only requires checking whether the motor axle nuts are loose and whether the wire insulation is damaged. No lubrication or regular oiling is required.
A:
● Single-person transportation on flat roads: 500–800W
● Two-person transportation or light cargo: 800–1000W
● Frequent cargo transportation and hilly roads: 1200–1500W; the 60V version is recommended for stronger power.
A: The IP54 protection rating only provides protection against rain and water splashes. It cannot withstand prolonged deep-water immersion. After passing through deep water, it is recommended to check whether water has entered the motor cable connections.
A: First check the following:
① Loose controller wiring;
② Damaged Hall wires;
③ Controller failure;
④ Poor connection of the phase wires.
The failure rate of the motor itself is relatively low.
A: Yes. We support customization of voltage, power, cable length, axle length, and disc-brake / drum-brake mounting flange. OEM private-label services are also available.
